2024 CES Recap
The 2024 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) gathered upwards of 135,000 tech enthusiasts and innovators to explore the latest and greatest from more than 4,300 exhibitors. This year's show surpassed our expectations. CES is one of our favorite events, the dynamic energy and enthusiasm for the latest innovations and cutting-edge technologies is always energizing and a great way to start the new year.
Health and Wellness
Given our focus on health and wellness products at Nova, we pay close attention to new emerging trends. One booth that caught our interest was Withings. They highlighted a focus on health monitoring through experiences that seamlessly integrate into people’s existing lifestyles. We enjoyed examining the design of the U-Scan urine testing device, which discreetly sits in the toilet and does not require the user to add another step to their daily routine. Making devices part of users' daily routine is crucial to maintaining adherence which is very important to creating better health outcomes. In addition to seamless integration, another standout health and wellness theme this year was AgeTech. We observed an increase in innovations designed with thoughtfulness for seniors. Technology was utilized to enhance connections with family, and we also noted trends in medication adherence and alerting. We've been keeping tabs on the AgeTech industry because we believe it is a green field for innovation, and we are thrilled to see more companies creating thoughtful innovations.
Digital Displays
Exploring the exhibition floor, it was evident that digital experiences have taken center stage. Major players like LG and Samsung showcased their product ecosystems through visually engaging digital displays featuring bright colors, lights, sounds, and interactive elements. Transparent screens emerged as a notable trend, we expect them to become prominent in stores and cafes in the coming years.
Electric Vehicles
Our anticipation for significant electric vehicle advancements was met with an abundance of excitement at CES. The spectrum ranged from real cars experienced through simulator test drives to cutting-edge concept cars, offering a diverse showcase. Notable industry leaders such as KIA, AFEELA, Tesla, BMW, LG, and Mercedes showcased impressive innovations. The exhibits not only featured the vehicles themselves but also highlighted creative solutions, from entertaining activities for passengers during charging to the integration of internal cameras. The continuous evolution of the automotive industry is an interest for us, and CES provided a glimpse into the fascinating developments shaping its future.

As a female-led firm, one of our goals is to provide advice and role models for the next generation of female designers and engineers.
The CTA State of the Industry Address and L'Oreal Keynote continued to wow the audience with L'Oreal's unwavering focus on accessibility and sustainability. The Colorsonic product, a revolutionary haircolor device, not only simplifies the hair coloring process but does so with an unmatched flair, automatically mixing and depositing the formula at the root. This innovation is a game-changer for those with dexterity issues, empowering them to color their hair independently at home.
